Sugar and Papa Lucky, a girl and her grandfather, are two of a kind. Papa Lucky likes to talk about the early days when he was a dancer, and Sugar likes to hear all about it. They both enjoy golden oldies like "Me and My Shadow." And, even though Sugar's mother doesn't exactly approve, together they perform on the street: Papa Lucky dances and Sugar helps by collecting donations. When Papa Lucky nails bottle caps onto the soles of Sugar's old shoes, the two of them perform at the Pensioners' Club party, and Sugar really "is" Papa Lucky's shadow!
