Synopsis
"Early in the year, primary students would often come into the library looking for their "lost" shoes, which our custodian, Juliette Bruneau, puts in the Lost & Found if they are left on the floor. The students were often quite upset about their lost shoes, so I jokingly said to them that maybe the Shoe Monster got them. I've wanted to enter the Kids are Authors contest for several years, and this year Mary Doubt, who encourages such marvelous art work from her students, agreed to work with me on an entry, and so, The Shoe Monster was born! We brainstormed ideas and wrote the story in Library Class, and Mary Doubt worked with the students in class on the illustrations."--Mary Zoretich, librarian.
