Synopsis
Greetings, Moms and Dads, Grandmas and Grandpas, Fellow Educators. I would like to introduce you to my new children's book. This project is so very near and dear to my heart. It is based on a true story, a story that happened to me in the third grade. You see, I was a so-called "troubled kid". I didn't take anything serious, especially school. I played jokes and pranks. I absolutely enjoyed disrupting the class, at all cost. In spite of my actions, I had a wonderful Teacher. Her name was Ms. Gonzales. On the day that third grade was supposed to be finished, I was sent home with a letter. The letter said that I could not move up to the next grade. My single mother was not very happy. Not with the school but with me. The next day, Ms. Gonzales showed up at our house. She convinced my mommy that I should participate in summer school. I did not like that idea at all. I did not want to waste my summer at school. Mommy enrolled me anyway. In the classroom, just me and Ms. Gonzales. Up until that point, I didn't realize how special Ms. Gonzales was. She loved me for me and it really changed my life. She taught me life lessons of trust and compassion. To this day, the summer I spent in Ms. Gonzales classroom, was the best summer of my life. She taught me how to be a good student and I taught her how to play great pranks. I taught her that kids need to be kids. There is no mold made that can fit us all. Now days, I am an elementary school principal in New Mexico. I spend my day, nights and weekends working with children. Children don't need to be handcuffed and thrown into a cop car. The just need some compassion from a trusting adult. Thank You Ms. Gonzales! You changed my life. Children are our future. Each and every one, are worth investing in. Thanks for reading! I hope that you enjoy this book!
